LinfoTaping
Neuromuscular Taping Techniques
for lymphatic problems and scar treatment.
Stage I ° - 2 days |
| |
Code: Lint 2 / I °
Duration: 2 days, for a total of 16 hours
Target audience: Doctors, Physiotherapists, Nurses, Students 3-4th year physiotherapy
Max participants: 24
Course Material: Kit, CD
Registration includes: teaching materials, tape for practical exercise, Neuromuscular Taping Institute participation certificate for LINFOTAPING and International matriculation number.
All Neuromuscular Taping courses may be attended without preparatory courses in lymphatic drainage. Courses are available to professional terapists with specific training in physical rehabilitation. LinfoTaping 2/1° is considered a basic course in the treatament of lymphatic congestion. |
| |
Day 1°
• Neuromuscular Taping and LinfoTaping;
- general concepts
- theory
- application techniques
- current research and clinical evidence
• Theory practical applications in the following areas;
- upper limb
- hand and wrist
• LinfoTaping Taping techniques specific to the following areas;
- patients with systemic lymphatic damage
- patients with post-operative lymphatic damage
- specific LinfoTaping for post-mastectomy breast treatments
- treatment of hospitalized patients and immobilized patients: an aid to reduce pressure on the lymph nodes and reducing edema due to immobility
- treatment of swelling, local pain caused by trauma
- treatment of tendon cysts, bursitis and other conditions due to local lymphatic system congestion |
| |
Day 2°
• Theory practical applications in the following areas;
- lower limb
- abdomen and thoracic area
- foot and ankle
• Specific applications in the drainage of the face and neck; useful in post trauma and post operative cosmetic surgery, vocal cord edema, and hematoma on the face
• Specific scar treatment applications;
post surgery scar treatment
treatment of irregular larger surface area scar tissue due to burning and abrasion
treatment of scar tissue on the breast and treatment of post-surgical oncological and cosmetic breast scar tissue
• Discussion and practical exam
• Assessment and Test |

| |
| Action |
| The course objective is to instruct course participants the manual and tecnical techniques necessary in the application of an elastic non medicated tape on the skin surface. The correct application together with the certain characteristics and elasticity of the tape raises the skin to create more space under the tape itself and induce a reduction of pressure in the interstitium. Once the local pressure is reduced lymphatic flow is activated from the area of the congestion. |
| |
| Normal lymphatic drainage is obtained through body movement: the tape, due to the particular way in which it is applied, raises the skin in a wave, amplifying the stretching / contraction effect of the skin itself. Adhesion of the connective tissue due to acute or chronic congestion may be reduced to improve better lymphatic flow of filaments between the interstitial cells, endothelium of lymphangitis, and the fibers of the connective tissue. Correct application of tape may open the
doors of lymph vessels to facilitate lymphatic flow. |
| |
| A third action is the LinfoTaping conductive function. Lymphatic liquid has the ability to be guided by the application of a tape positioned over the lymphatic vessels layout to improve its functioning. |
| |
| LinfoTaping a new technique to improve global lymphatic treatment results. |
| |
| These three principles of LinfoTaping action are the basis for a continuous drainage. The taping application may be applied for several days up to 7 days continiously providing a constant lymphatic drainage 24 hours a day. The patient may move freely without restriction of heavy constrictive bandaging. The patient may shower and swim without limitation and the tape will dry in several minutes. It is recommended that a patient continue with manual lymphatic drainage together with LinfoTaping
applications. The combination of manual therapy and LinfoTaping ensure optimal treatment of lymphatic edema. |
| |
| The characteristics of the Tape is an adhesive elastic fiber tape which is free latex. It consists of high quality cotton fabric, with a special texture that allows perspiration and transpiration of the skin. The particular layer of hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive is activated by body heat. The tape produces low skin irritation, even after prolonged application of tape. The tape does not contain drugs or other ingredients and the application may remain for 3-4 days and uses a biomechanicsal
action. |
| |
| LinfoTaping for the specific treatment for edema is a method of treatment developed in Europe and successfully used by hospitals and clinics, doctors, dermatologists and therapists specialised in post-operative, oncological and neurological care of patients with lymphatic conditions. |
